Gold jewelry that no longer matches your style can be transformed into a unique new piece. I can either rework the old gold or have it purchased.
Together, we’ll design a new piece using your gold.
1) Reworking your gold
Process
- Old gold is always analyzed and appraised by a certified gold office. I can arrange this for you.
- Unknown alloys can cause discoloration or brittleness.
- Contaminants, such as solder residues, can disrupt the process.
- If there isn’t enough gold, additional new gold can be added.
- Not all jewels can be crafted from old gold.
Requirements for Old Gold
- Only 18k and 24k yellow or rose gold can be melted.
- Changing the color of gold is not possible.
- Best for melting: flat pieces, rings, medallions, and coins.
- Not suitable for melting: fine chains and white gold, but their value can be credited toward a new piece.
- Due to loss during the melting process, double the amount of old gold is needed for a new piece.
Costs and Method
- Prices depend on the design and the melting process.
- During an appointment, the gold is weighed, and I provide a price estimate.
- Fine chains and clasps are always newly purchased for durability.
2) Purchasing Your Gold
- Old gold is always analyzed and appraised by a certified gold office. I can arrange this for you.
- We do not purchase old gold unless it’s being reworked into a new piece.
- The value of your old gold can, however, be credited toward the purchase of a new jewel.
Let’s create something timeless and unique from your gold!
